Mehran University Reinforces Quality Commitment with Successful ISO 9001:2015 Surveillance Audit

Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan – Mehran University of Engineering & Technology (MUET) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to quality by successfully passing a surveillance audit conducted by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) from August 21 to 23, 2024. The audit confirmed MUET’s adherence to the stringent requirements of ISO 9001:2015, the internationally recognized standard for quality management systems.

Led by LRQA auditor Inkesar Hussain, the audit assessed various departments and management systems at MUET, scrutinizing its processes and procedures for compliance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard. The university’s dedication to continuous improvement and its ability to meet the rigorous criteria of the audit resulted in no major non-conformities, ensuring the continued validity of its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Key areas evaluated during the audit included:

Leadership commitment: The university’s leadership demonstrated strong commitment to quality management and its role in achieving institutional goals.

Internal audits and management reviews: MUET’s robust internal audit process and regular management reviews ensure ongoing monitoring and improvement of its quality management system.

Regulatory compliance: The university’s seamless communication with regulatory bodies such as the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) demonstrates its adherence to industry standards.

Student satisfaction: MUET’s commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience is evident in the positive feedback received from students.

The audit also highlighted the university’s dedication to setting challenging objectives, enhancing the learning experience through innovative approaches, and maintaining a strong focus on quality in all aspects of its operations.

Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Aneel Kumar expressed his satisfaction with the audit results and commended the faculty, staff, and students for their contributions to MUET’s ongoing success. “This achievement reinforces our commitment to providing quality education and maintaining the highest standards of excellence. MUET will continue to strive for continuous improvement and innovation to remain at the forefront of higher education in Pakistan,” he stated.

As MUET looks ahead, it remains dedicated to enhancing its quality management system and is scheduled for its next surveillance audit in February 2025.
