Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Hosts 108th Academic Council Meeting
October 31, 2024, Jamshoro – Mehran University of Engineering and Technology (MUET) held its 108th Academic Council meeting, bringing together esteemed faculty and administrative members to discuss and approve key advancements in academic programs, curricula, and institutional policies. Chaired by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Tauha Hussain Ali, the meeting addressed pressing academic matters aligned with current educational standards and industry needs.
The council reviewed compliance reports from the previous session, approving initiatives like the revised academic calendar for the 2024-25 session and new study schemes across several departments, including Civil, Electrical, and Petroleum Engineering. Notably, a new undergraduate scheme for the Bachelor of Engineering (Petroleum & Natural Gas) program received approval from the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC).
Further, the council approved curriculum updates in alignment with Higher Education Commission (HEC) guidelines, incorporating advanced topics such as Artificial Intelligence and Edge Computing. These curriculum enhancements aim to equip students with cutting-edge skills that meet both academic and industry standards.
MUET continues to lead in academic excellence, ensuring that its programs remain relevant and impactful for future engineers, scientists, and technologists.
